Night Swimming

I’m going night swimming on my own

Pulled from sleep to the deep unknown

Let it go in the floating stars

Night swimmers you know who you are

At the waters edge I said goodbye to him

Standing on dry land before he learned to swim

The longest journey he would ever make

Nothing to say; nothing to take.

He is beyond me but when I’m sleeping

Under the radar his heart’s still beating

If there’s a way I’m going to find his embrace

And I know I trespass in this other place, when I go

Night swimming on my own

Pulled from sleep to the deep unknown.

Let it go in the floating stars.

Night swimmers you know who you are.

It’s been a long day, feels like a lifetime

You’ve been a good friend; you’ve been a life line

Don’t give me a reason to stay

Let go of my hand, I’m going anyway.

Night swimming on my own,

Pulled from sleep to the deep unknown.

Let it go in the floating stars.

Night swimmers you know who you are

And I know where to find you.
