Tide to you

‘Can we wash the past out to the sea and walk away now you and me

Can we find a way to make it right, find a way to turn this tide’

This is a song of deep regret and wishing and longing for the impossible; to turn back the tide of Time. Someone is pulled back to their Love but the bond of trust between them has been broken and cannot be unbroken.

Lyrics

I was carried in on the latest tide

I can’t explain from where I came

I found a hook in my pocket

Bedraggled is my name

I didn’t choose to offend your eyes

You’ll say my story is a boatful of lies

But your face looks kind

Kind of familiar

Can we wash the past out to the sea

And walk away now, you and Me

Can we find a way to make it right

Find a way to turn this tide

I walk a tightrope to you from me

I’m close enough now and I can see

A look in your eye

It says I know you

I look for hope and I hope for light

To light the way, to make it right

The air we breathe is the sweetest memory

Can we wash the past out to the sea

And walk away now, you and Me

Can we find a way to make it right

Find a way to turn this tide

Tide to you

Tide to you brings me in on a wave of blue

Who would have thought after all these years

I’d cry a sea of salty tears and ride the tide just to wash up here

If we pretend to forget and say today is the day we met

On an empty beach, then nothing’s happened yet

Can we wash the past out to the sea

And walk away now, you and Me

Can we find a way to make it right

Find a way to turn this tide

Tide to you

Tide to you brings me in on a wave of blue

I cry for you, I’m dying for you

Pouring in on a wave
